Interview #4

My final interview took place in the school library of a neighboring elementary school on November 17th. This elementary school  is located in Horry County and it houses around 800 students in grades PK-5th. I asked the following questions... 1. What are some examples of how you implement the AASL School Library Standards into your teaching? 2. What resources do you use in your library program that help you implement the standards? 3. Do any of your lessons require you to collaborate with classroom teachers? If so, how? 4. What are some of the challenges you face when trying to implement the standards into your classroom? 5. Is there anything else you would like to share about the standards that we have discussed?          I could relate to this librarian probably the most. I was nodding when I got her response to how she implements the AASL School Library Standards. She...

Is there anything else you would like to share about the standards that we have discussed?          This was by far my shortest interview. I was quite disappointed with the answers I received because I felt like I did not get a ton of information. However, I already know how the library is ran and ...

Interview #2

On October 16th, 2025, I had the privilege of interviewing a High School Librarian. This school is located in Horry County and it houses around 1,600 students in grades 9-12. I asked the following questions... 1. Describe how you encourage learners to read and write for a variety of purposes? 2. How do you assist learners through inquiry based research? 3. What strategies do you use to motivate struggling readers? 4. How do you address different learning styles and interests? 5. Describe how you collaborate with classroom teachers to effectiviely deliver services to learners. 6. Describe how you consult and collaborate with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure quality services.          I chose to ask slightly different questions for this interview than the first one because it is a grade level I am not used to at all. High School honestly scares me because I am so used to teaching the elementary students.  ...

She teaches 3 out of 5 days in the week. Each day that she teaches she has a specific grade level. For example, she teaches 8th grad...
